Our Mission

The Queen has appointed Carla Ann Flexman to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed Her Honour Judge Carla Ann Flexman to the Western Circuit, based at Torquay County Court with effect from 7 September 2022.

Circuit Judge Carla Ann Flexman will be known as Her Honour Judge Flexman.

Her Honour Judge Flexman was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2002. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.

As a Barrister, Carla’s specialism was in both children Private and Public law. Areas of expertise include factitious illness, non-accidental injury and neglect. In private law, she has covered complex disputes including those transferred tot he high court..

She has a particular interest in cases involving mental health.

Hobbies include Walking and Cooking
